Virgil van Dijk has no plans to leave Liverpool anytime soon with Juventus linked with a surprise summer bid. Liverpool’s dominance at the top of world football arguably began when Jurgen Klopp brought in Van Dijk for £75million little over two years ago.
The Holland international was already one of the world’s elite defenders, but at Anfield he has taken that to the next level.
He helped guide the Reds to Champions League glory in his first full season at the club and it looks likely he will add a Premier League winner’s medal to his trophy cabinet this campaign.
That kind of success will see him go down in folklore history at Anfield, delivering a top flight title for the first time in 30 years.
Van Dijk is now seen as the world’s best centre-back, highlighted by his second-place finish in the 2019 Ballon d’Or just behind Lionel Messi.

That kind of form though has attracted interest from elite clubs all around Europe, with Juventus said to be considering a surprising big-money move at the end of the season.
But The Athletic suggest Van Dijk has no interest in seeking a move away from Liverpool in the near future.
And it is claimed Liverpool will enter negotiations with Van Dijk in the summer over fresh terms on his current contract.
The 28-year-old has three years left on his £125,000-a-week deal but he could expect a bumper pay rise on Merseyside.

While Van Dijk looks extremely unlikely to leave Liverpool anytime soon, the club could be working on some major incomings in the summer.
And former Anfield hero Steve McManaman believes Jadon Sancho would fit the bill perfectly at his old club.
“I think he’d prefer to go somewhere where he will start week-in and week-out,” the former Liverpool midfielder said of Sancho during an interview with HorserRacing.net. “I don’t think there’s any problem with that.
“The other thing is the cost implications. How much is he going to cost?

“No doubt, he’s an extremely bright prospect, he’s doing really well in Dortmund, he plays regularly and he’s a star there.
“Whether Liverpool would go for him now is something that I don’t know and if he was available, he’d command big money and I presume that there’s a number of clubs that would go for him.
“Jadon could cost £60 million-£75 million and that’s a lot of money for somebody that young even though he looks a fantastic prospect.
“It’s a big outlay for a player and in all honesty, Liverpool’s young players are all doing well themselves and Jurgen Klopp seems to want to give them a go.”
