Tyson Fury predicts round he will KO Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas rematch

Tyson Fury is promising a second round knockout when he faces Deontay Wilder in a week’s time.

The titanic pair will enter the ring once again in what is one of the most highly anticipated fights of the decade.

Fury and Wilder last fought in December 2018, when the heavyweights produced a spectacular draw at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The American floored the Brit twice in the clash only for Fury to produce the unthinkable and get up and claim the draw.

It is deemed by popular opinion that the Wythenshawe-born fighter dominated most rounds in the bout and was unlucky to not claim the victory.

But Fury is confident he will claim the win – and Wilder’s WBC title – this time out. And he wants it done with quickly so he can go out and celebrate Las Vegas style.

“I’m expecting a clean-cut knockout,” he told talkSPORT. “It will be early on in the fight so we can all go out and get drunk! Have a good night in Las Vegas celebrating.

“I’m going to go for round two. I’ve been saying round two all camp and I’m going to stick by round two. I don’t know why, I don’t know when but round two is when it’s going to be.”

Wilder, though, has been playing down Fury’s strength and claimed his fists are like pillows.

His rival had a response to the comments.

“I’m going to make sure they’re [my fists] are going to be extra ducked down feather goose pillows, just for him,” he added.

“And you know what happens when you’re on an extra ducked down feather goose pillow, don’t you? You go to sleep nice and easy!”

Wilder is well known for his tremendous power but Fury, who was knocked down twice by the 34-year-old, doesn’t think his punch ‘is all that’

“It ain’t so bad, it ain’t so bad at all,” Fury explained. “If it was that bad I wouldn’t have got up in round twelve!

“It’s not what he believes it is. He believes he’s some big knockout king or whatever. He put me down twice and I got up and rattled him all over the ring. He doesn’t hit that hard does he?

“Everyone he’s fought, he’s knocked out, apart from the Gypsy King. He had me down twice and had over two minutes in both rounds to finish me…he was trying his best and he just couldn’t do it.

“So when you can’t do it having had the opportunity twice, what would ever possess this idiot to think he’s going to do it a third time?

“From the first fight I learnt that if I’m any good at all, then I’m going to beat him in this rematch. If I’m totally useless, I’ll lose. No pressure on me, like!

“I can’t do anything about judges’ decisions, worse things have happened in a boxing contest. That’s why we get to do it again and put it right. The record will be set straight this time.”
