Before we start, let me clear you that Malgudi is a fictional town that was located in South India, and often mentioned in the short stories and novels of R. K. Narayan.

In the books, Malgudi was created by Sir Fredrick Lawley, who is a fictional British officer in the 19th century. He created the village by developing and combining a few villages.

Do you remember the popular TV serial ‘Malgudi Days’ of the 1980’s. The show was based on the works of R. K. Narayan. The whole show was made on the collection of the short stories and presented to a wide audience in the form of Tele Series.

There’s no denying that the character of the little boy, Swami, was one of the most important characters in the Tele series Malgudi Days.

The character of Swami was portrayed by Manjunath Nayaker. He was famous by the name of Master Manjunath.

This brilliant child artist also played the young version of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan in the Agneepath starring Amitabh Bachchan.

In his glorious days as a child artist in the entertainment industry, Master Manjunath also worked in some Kannada movies.

The cute boy of ‘Malgudi Days’ grew up and become a huge man. Manjunath Nayakar is now in his thirties, and well settled in his home at Bangalore.

He narrated his journey in short to reporters saying, “Post films, I finished my education, and like every other Bangalorean I too got into IT.

But I am a people’s man, couldn’t do a 9 to 5 job so I joined another firm where I worked for 14 years.

Today I am happily married and have a 5-year-old son and now I work for myself as a consultant in Public Relations.”

It looks like Manjunath Nayakar is well settled in his life and doesn’t want to pursue his journey as an actor.

However, he is always loved and appreciated for the iconic characters he played in movies and Television serials as a child artist.

He was often seen hanging out with celebrities. He is quite active on his social handles and he often posts his pics.

The narration of the Malgudi days is very simple. The whole story of the series revolves around the people who live in the small town of Malgudi. People in Malgudi live a simple life and faces several tribulations as trials.
