Shashi Tharoor Defended Kunal Kamra But Couldn’t Answer A Simple Question Asked By Madhav Sharma

On Tuesday, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor reacted to a video tat was shared by popular stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra via his official Twitter handle. In the video, Kunal Kamra can be seen giving a monologue about Arnab Goswami’s ‘journalism’ on a flight, while the journalist has plugged his earphones and is trying his best to ignore Kamra.

The video has gone insanely viral on social media and has divided people into two parts. While many praised Kunal Kamra’s bravery, on the other hand, there were many who trolled him left, right and center for barging into Arnub’s personal space.

Reacting to the video, Shashi Tharoor said that it was the time that someone gave Arnub the taste of his own medicine. In his tweet, he can be seen defending and lauding Kunal Kamra. He wrote:

The truth is that it was time someone gave him a taste of his own medicine. These are the words he regularly uses to berate his innocent victims, except he does so in a hectoring, bullying manner & at higher volume & pitch than @kunalkamra88 does in this video.”

Shashi Tharoor was quick to notice the Tweet and come up with a Tweet in his defense saying that he was also treated the same way by Arnab. He wrote:

On the contrary: I deplore & condemn what was done to me & therefore approve of teaching the incorrigible what it feels like to be treated that way.”

But the Twitter user once again pointed out that a journalist can ask him questions related to the case he is facing the trial for. The user wrote:

Mr. Tharoor, you are facing a trial and it’s every journalist’s right to ask questions related to that case, especially when you are trying to avoid them. Also, did Arnab or any of his journalists at @republic use abusive words like your friend Kunal did?”

Meanwhile, Kunal Kamra has been banned for six months by Air India and IndiGo flights.
