Nottingham Forest fans have heaped praise on their media team after they mocked referee Keith Stroud on Twitter following his performance during their clash with West Brom.
The two teams played out a 2-2 draw at the Hawthorns, but the visitors felt as if they were on the receiving end of some contentious decisions.
A Kyle Bartley hand ball went unpunished in the second-half, but it was a yellow card issued to West Brom forward Matt Phillips that initiated the entertaining tweet.
Forest tweeted: “Keith Stroud is furious as he’s forced to give a yellow card to Matt Phillips for a late challenge on Yuri Ribeiro.”
At this point the visitors were trailing with 15 minutes to go but a Matty Cash wonder strike in stoppage time ensured Forest went home with a share of the spoils.
But fans were fuming with Stroud’s display and fully backed the man behind the club’s Twitter.
“Sign admin up on a lifetime contract, keys to the city and make him the honoury dad of Robin Hood,” joked one.
“#keithstroud The worst performance I’ve seen by three officials for a long, long time,” added a second.
“Stroud will definitely make the EFL team of the week,” claimed a third.
“The ref doesn’t want to punish one of his own,” said a fourth.
The stalemate meant Forest missed out on the chance to go into the automatic promotion places, albeit temporarily with their rivals still to play.
QPR are their next opponents at the City Ground before they travel to Cardiff and Middlesbrough as they target the Premier League.
