Outer Banks is predominantly a teenage drama with a dash of action, adventure and mystery streamed on Netflix. The show premiered on Netflix on 15th April, 2020. The show follows the story of a group of teenagers in the Outer Banks of North Carolina who are called ‘Pogues,’ who live at the Cut. Their ring leader John B enlists the help of his friend to recover a legendary treasure linked to his father’s disappearance. To complicate things, there is a wealthy and superior group called the ‘Kooks,’ who live at the Figure Eight. The plot revolves around how these teenagers have to overcome all sorts of obstacles to fulfil their quest.
On 3rd May 2019, Netflix announced the first season of the series. The series was created ad executive produced by Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke. The first season contains ten episodes, each episode ranges from 47 – 57 minutes. The reviews for the first season have been encouraging and a second season is sure to be on the cards.
Outer Banks Season 2 Release Date
There is no official announcement from Netflix yet, but, with the season 1 being so popular there is definitely going to be a season 2. As per the usual policy, Netflix announces the renewal of a series after a waiting period of five months. If the same scenario is followed, we can expect an announcement in the near future. As to when the second season will be released, with all the uncertainty and the production being on hold, Outer Banks Season 2 is scheduled to release cannot be expected sooner than late 2021.

Outer Banks Season 2 Plot Lines and Release News: What Can We Expect?
The first season witnessed John B falling in love with Sarah, who is considered as the princess of Kook. Sarah’s father Ward figures out where the treasure is and sends it to Bahamas. On the other hand, Rafe, Sarah’s brother accidentally kills the sheriff in an altercation. Ward frames John B for the murder. With the police chasing him John B along with Sarah takes JJ’s boat and dives right into a storm. On the radio John B reveals that Ward was the one who killed his father and framed him for the Sheriff’s murder. As the storm intensifies John B and Sarah are presumed to be dead. As their friends mourn, we witness that they are in fact alive thanks to cargo ship rescue.
In the last moments of the finale, they discover that they are enroute to Bahamas and have a chance at finding the treasure. All this has laid the groundwork for the second season. Hence, we will witness the Pogues finding out that John B and Sarah are very much alive, they might even join them on their quest. The second season will also witness the relationship of Sarah, John B and Kiara, Pope. Rafe being charged for the murder of the Sheriff and whether or not Wade is implicated for involvement in the murder of John’s further. Finally, whether or not they manage to get the treasure back and much more.
