The Good Place is a fantasy comedy television series created by Michael Schur. The series first premiered on NBC on 19th September 2016 with four seasons of 53 episodes and the finale being aired on 30th January 2020. The main characters of the series are Kristen Bell as Eleanor, Ted Danson as Michael, William Harper as Chidi, Jameela Jamil as Tahani, D’Arcy Carden as Janet, and Manny Jacinto as Jason.
The show focuses on Eleanor who ends up in a good place welcomed there by Michael. She quickly realizes there has been a mistake and she strives to hide her morally corrupt behavior in order to keep staying in the good place. She meets a couple of people who actually discover that is a bad place and begin their journey to become entitled to the good place.
‘The Good Place’ Season 4 Finale – ‘Whenever you are ready’
The series finale ended with four of them finally entering the real ‘good place.’ They realized when everything gets done for you even the paradise tends to get monotonous. They decided to fix it by adding an exit door to the unknown. All of the characters found their own sense of peace at the end. Of the four humans and the two afterlife employees we’ve spent most of the time with over the past four seasons, three decideto venture into the beyond, two stay behind in the good place, and one goes to the earth to start a life.
The first one to decide to move on is Jason who decides he’s experienced everything the universe has to offer although not really leaving and hanging around outside the exit door for few lifetimes, as he forgot to give Janet his parting gift to Janet. Tahani decides to stay back and trains to become an afterlife architect along with Glenn and Shawn. Chidi leaves the good place and moves on after an emotional farewell. Janet cannot leave. Eleanor is the next to move on after helping Mindy St. Claire and Michael. Michael becomes a real human and goes back to live on the earth as a handsome older man.
The Good Place Season 5 Confirmed or Cancelled?
Despite the show doing well and having critical acclaim as well, the creator of the show Michael Schur took a decision that the season – 4 will be the last season. Saying they told what all they had to say. The show was not cancelled it was purely a creative decision which the channel respected. So, it seems like a 5th season is highly unlikely.
