Before joining law Ramana worked as a journalist for the regional Eenadu newspaper for two years. He enrolled as an advocate on February 10, 1983. Ramana was appointed as the 48th CJI by the President of India on 6th April 2021. He took Oath as 48th Chief Justice of India on 24th April 2021.
