With the NRL season suspended indefinitely, so too, unfortunately, is KFC SuperCoach.
In these unprecedented times, it is important we continue to communicate with our loyal players, and below is some information to better understand how any changes will work.
Please note that news can of course change at any minute, and KFC SuperCoach will work through whatever is necessary to keep the game going. To stay up to date with all the latest KFC SuperCoach news be sure to visit https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/nrl/supercoach-news
Is KFC SuperCoach still open?
Yes. We’ve set Round 3 lockout to a tentative date of May 1. Please note this will be updated as more information is provided from the NRL. As per normal, two trades are permitted – you can make and reverse as many trades as you like.

Will there be rule changes?
Highly likely. There is currently a clause that allows News to change how KFC SuperCoach operates or amend the T&Cs. When we know more details about the NRL season and fixtures we will update everyone. The KFC SuperCoach platform has the flexibility to amend fixtures, trade numbers, trade periods, data feeds etc. and the game is ready to adapt to whatever changes are required. There will also be a decision made as to whether there needs to be an increase/decrease in trades. Also, depending on what the NRL decide, bye rounds could be removed and prices may change.
What happens with KFC SuperCoach Draft?
Draft will proceed as usual, allowing leagues to make trades (either controlled by league or commissioner) until May 1 (subject to date change). Waiver claims and free agency trades proceed as usual and based on your league’s settings.
Will content still be produced?
Yes. We know the appetite for KFC SuperCoach content is insatiable and we have plans to produce plenty, including:
– Winners and losers from The Shutdown
– Podcast: Shutdown Special
– Re-live classic games
– KFC SuperCoach quiz
– Cheapie Bible heading forward
Are there still prizes?
Yes. Major and runner-up cash prizes will still be awarded (based on a reduced round season). This is conditioned to the competition going ahead.
How will finals work?
The last four rounds of the regular season will still be the basis for the finals series in your head-to-head leagues, with a shortened regular season if required.
What happens if the Warriors or another team withdraw from the NRL season?
Should this occur and therefore create an odd number of teams, resulting in a bye round each week, the decision will be made to increase the number of trades. Within the game, the draw would be updated and Warriors matches and players will be removed for the season.
???????? Congratulations to “Holy Moses” on winning $1,000 as KFC SuperCoach Team of the Week. Could be the last one for a while … pic.twitter.com/gZhaDbGPAv
