#JusticeforJayapriya – 7-year old Jayapriya’s murder accused arrested by police, are there others involved in this heinous crime?

#JusticeforJayapriya is trending throughout India on Twitter and this incident involving 7-year old Jayapriya from Pudukottai district in Tamil Nadu is gruesome and the Netizens are angry about it. 7-year old Jayapriya who went missing in the evening on 1st July 2020 was playing around her house in Anbal Village, near Avudaiyarkovil in the Pudukottai district. Her parents thought that she must have gone to her relatives house as they are nearby and didn’t check on her until night.

Since the girl didn’t turn up home at night there were frantic searches to find her and her mother complained in Embal police station police station. Police formed a search party and used dogs to find her. Later Jayapriya’s dead body was found in shrubs with multiple injuries. Her body was sent to Pudukottai Medical college for postmortem and it was confirmed that she was raped and murdered.

The police suspected it to be a murder involving more than one person and search was on to nab the culprits. The police dog which was used in the search sat in front of a house after sniffing the entire area and police arrested 28-year old Rajesh from the house. On investigation Rajesh accepted that he did the heinous act, hence the murder of Jayapriya was arrested. But police suspects that there may be another person involved in this murder and investigations are going on full swing. Let’s hope for a speedy justice to put an end to such brutality.
