Michelle McNamara was the wife of comedian Patton Oswalt. In 2016, Michelle died but was still known as Oswalt’s better half. But it was only after her death that the truth came to light. Her death left Oswalt and their daughter Alice distraught but also opened an investigation. In the ‘70’s and ‘80’s Sacramento suffered under the terror of a rapist and serial killer.

Michelle McNamara in her book I’ll Be Gone In The Dark relives her life, her passion towards writing and crime. It mainly delves into how she got involved in pursuing a case with the most bizarre acronym, EAR-ONS. The book was published posthumously and it was only through her research that the investigation came to a conclusion.

The trailer of I’ll Be Gone In The Dark was released on June 10th 2020. The docuseries has six episodes that will be released from late June to early August. The series draws incidents from the book by Michelle McNamara. The book put the Golden State Killer case to perspective and opened up an investigation. What to expect from I’ll Be Gone In The Dark Episode 2?

Michelle McNamara in her book I’ll Be Gone In The Dark put together pieces of a puzzle that seemed unattainable. It is because of her that the Golden State Killer was able to be caught and people were given justice. The docuseries gives the viewers an insight into the life of McNamara. She had a passion for crime and would dive deep into cases.

The first episode of I’ll Be Gone In The Dark gives us an understanding of the cases McNamara researched. It was her passion that made her a citizen investigator. It was this desire for justice that kept her going. McNamara had a blog called the True Crime Diaries which was a huge help during the investigation post her death. The blog kept the Golden State Killer case alive and very much abuzz. McNamara unfortunately met her end due to an overdose.

In the second episode which would be looking into her origin story. Who was McNamara and how did she get passionately obsessed with crime? The next episode will show the viewers who she was other than a loving wife and devoted mother who preferred to be in the shadows of her comedian husband but vigorously ran a crime blog that pursued a serial killer.
