Himanta Biswa Sarma is an Indian politician and the current Chief Minister of Assam.

He is a former member of the INC, Sarma joined BJP on 23 August 2015. He is an MLA from Jalukbari constituency in Assam. He was elected as MLA from 2001 till 2015 as a member of INC and from May 2016 as a member of BJP.
