Deepika Padukone is undaunted by the online trolls targetting her recently released movie ‘Chhapaak’ after she stood solidarity with the students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Ever since her visit to the university, she has been at the receiving end of criticism and trolling on social media.
Her visit even affected the Box-office collection and ratings of her recently released movie Chhapaak. The movie which is based on the life of an acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal received a mild response from the moviegoers.
From people downvoting the film in large numbers to an aggressive #BoycottChhapaak campaign being run on Twitter, people were leaving no stone unturned to slam the actress for supporting the students.
The movie managed to earn Rs 34.03 crore nett and Rs 40 crore gross in two weeks at the domestic box office, while it earned Rs 13.03 crore in the overseas market. The movies that released alongside Chhapaak, Tanhaji: The Unsung outnumbered Chhapaak and is still running successfully in the theatres.
Talking about the IMDB ratings, after the flood of 1-star ratings, Chhapaak’s IMDB ratings are stabilized at 4.6 stars.

Meanwhile, a video of Deepika Padukone has been making rounds on social media, which is a month old. In the video, Deepika Padukone can be seen giving out a clear message to her trollers. Giving a perfect reply to her trollers, Deepika said:
“Unhone meri IMDb rating badli hai, mera mann nahi” (which roughly translates to: They have changed my IMDb rating, not my mind).

Talking about her upcoming movies, Deepika will be next seen in the movie ’83’ where she will be playing the role of Kapil Dev’s wife. The role of Kapil Dev will be played by Ranveer Singh.
