Tamil Nadu has the highest number of coronavirus cases next to Maharashtra and the government is trying hard to control it, they have even changed their health officer and appointed J Radhakrishnan to work on controlling the rising cases in the state. The number of coronavirus cases are high and concentrated only to the capital Chennai and its neighbouring districts Tiruvallur and Chengalpattu.
Hence the government of Tamil Nadu have decided to implement complete lockdown in Chennai, Chengalpattu and Tiruvallur from Friday 19th June 2020 to 30th June 2020. This is a complete lockdown and 144 will be in place and people moving in and out of their houses are strictly prohibited during these times. Only essential services will be operated during these times like lockdown 1.0.

Grocery shops, vegetable shops, petrol bunks, and mobile markets can remain open between 6.00 am and 2.00 pm. People driving to the market in their private vehicles will be allowed to travel only within 2 kms from their house.
