One punter could win £100,000 from a £10 bet at the Cheltenham Festival this week, we can reveal.
The four-fold bet was placed months ago, when the odds of them all winning were 10,000/1. But that is now 1,370/1.
The four horses, all from the Colin Tizzard yard, are: Fiddler on the Roof at 10/1 in the Supreme; Big Breakaway, at 10/1 in the Ballymore; Lostintranslation at 8/1 in the Gold Cup; and Copperhead at 8/1 in the RSA Chase.
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “British trainer Colin Tizzard heads to the festival with a very strong team and no shortage of supporters in the betting.
“In particular, this one customer who got behind him months in advance of the festival. So far his loyalty has paid off as his selections all look like contenders to win.
“With £100k hanging in the balance for just a ten pound bet, we can only imagine the excitement this punter is feeling now.”
Bookies expect £35,000 to be gambled per second in the four-day festival, with £30million going on Friday’s Gold Cup.
