Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign Barcelona ace Philippe Coutinho. The Brazil international is currently on loan at German giants Bayern Munich. However, according to the Daily Star, Bayern will not sign the 27-year-old on a permanent deal.
Barcelona have deemed the former Liverpool man surplus to requirements ahead of the summer transfer window.
And The Star say Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign the playmaker.
However, the Blues are only interested in landing the Brazilian on loan rather than a permanent deal.
Chelsea are prioritising other transfer targets ahead of the summer window instead of Coutinho.
The Blues have already signed Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech ahead of the summer window.
Coutinho joined Barcelona in January 2018 from Liverpool, however, the attacking midfielder failed to impress at the Nou Camp.
Like Chelsea, Manchester United have also been heavily linked with Coutinho ahead of the summer window.
A lot has been made of Coutinho returning to the Premier League, with United legend Rio Ferdinand claiming he would have taken him at Old Trafford before Bruno Fernandes joined the club.
“Listen, Coutinho, Philippe Coutinho at Liverpool was an amazing player,” Ferdinand said on Instagram Live.
“But since he’s left Liverpool, he hasn’t really done it yet.

“He struggled at Barca, struggled to fit in there, and then he hasn’t done amazingly well at Bayern. So I don’t know man.
“I think he’s a great player, huge talent, I think he needs saving to be honest with you.
“Coming to the Premier League, to the right team, is the saviour for him, I think he needs that.
“I would have said Man United, yes, before Bruno Fernandes turned up, but not now.
“Not Man United. And he played for Liverpool so it’s a difficult one, isn’t it?
“Can you come to Man United after playing for Liverpool? Rivalries are mad.”
