Chelsea were handed a boost in their pursuit of Mauro Icardi after his dressing room tantrum emerged.

The Blues have been linked with a move for the Argentine since the January transfer window.

PSG’s forward has enjoyed a strong season, with 19 goals and four assists in all competitions.

And the French champions had been tipped to keep Icardi long-term.

But reports have emerged that the 27-year-old has fallen out with boss Thomas Tuchel.

According to AS, the PSG forward was left furious at being left out of the Champions League side that lost 2-1 to Borussia Dortmund.

They said: “When he learned that he was not a starter, Icardi would have been so upset that he threw several chairs on the floor.

“Once the anger passed, the Argentine international was frustrated, kept silent and barely opened his mouth until the team’s return to Paris.

“He threw some chairs on the floor. Then he didn’t speak the whole trip.”

Tuchel started Neymar, Angel Di Maria and Kylian Mbappe in the loss at the Westfalenstadion last Tuesday.

And Icardi was an unused substitute in the round-of-16 first leg.

The Argentine’s wife and agent, Wanda Nara, added fuel to the rumours earlier in the week.

She said: “If Icardi will ever go to Juventus?

“Ah, I really don’t know.

“If we live in Milan or Paris next year? With football you never know. Mauro will choose and we will follow him.”

Icardi is currently on loan at PSG from Inter Milan, where the arrival of Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez’s form forced him out.

And his strong start led many to assume the French team would trigger his £54m release clause.

But Frank Lampard’s side have now emerged as an interested party.
