More meat and treat for zombie lovers!
Karl Schaefer and John Hyams ( Creator of Z Nation) are back with season 2 of the nerve-wracking zombie-thriller series Black Summer on Netflix. This zombie apocalyptic show first premiered on April 11, 2019 on Netflix. Produced by the same production as the Z Nation, The Asylum. It is said to be set in the same universe as the Z-Nation and considered to be a prequel. The first season consisted of 8 episodes in total, revolving around a mother’s journey to look for her lost daughter, with a group of refugees amidst the summer of a zombie apocalypse. It did tremendously well amongst its fans despite the backlashes from critics.
Regardless of a happy ending by the end of the first season, a large number of audiences hoped it to be back with a sequel. Although it wasn’t until November 2019, that Netflix finally confirmed the return of the show. Jaime King (Rose) who plays the protagonist also tweeted about starring and producing the second season. Although they haven’t yet declared the exact date the show might premiere, but we know for sure that there’ll be some expected delays in its making due to the coronavirus outbreak across the world. And is expected to air in 2021.
The characters who are expected to return in its following season are:
Jaime King as Rose
Justin Chu as Spears
Christine Lee as Kyungsun
Sal Velez Jr, Kelsey Flower are also expected to join them in the next season. And hopefully, we’ll have John Hyams as the showrunner.
