We are in the last week of this Season of American Idol 2021. It’s been a ride filled with wonderful new musicians, spell-binding performances and so much more. The judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan have been a force to be reckoned with. So, you know in the season finale this weekend, everyone is going all out.
The three finalists are:
- Chayce Beckham
- Grace Kinstler
- Willie Spence
Last week, Casey Bishop left the American idol dais because she simply didn’t have the votes. So, this week the other three performances will bring their best to the stage. There are also some incredible guests who would be joining the event.
For the finale, we have a star-studded night. The judges will be performing their hearts out. We also have some celebrity guests. The three finalists will perform three solos. One of which is fan-favourite performance, and the other a song picked by the celebrity judge. They will also perform duets with the celebrity guests. Let’s take a look at some of the performances.
Many of the contestants/finalists are returning they are- Alyssa Wray, Arthur Gunn, Casey Bishop and Cassandra Coleman, Deshawn Goncalves, Hunter Metts, and Phillip Murphy. These contestants will also perform with the celebrity guests. Let’s look at the final three and their duets with the celebrities.
- Alessia Cara-She will perform a duet on ‘Scars to your beautiful’ with Grace Kinstler.
- Leona Lewis- She will perform a duet with Willie Spence on the song, “You are the reason”.
- Luke Combs-He will perform with Chayce Beckham on his song, “Forever after all”.
Other celebrity guests Chaka Khan, Fall Out Boy, Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham, Macklemore, Mickey Guyton and Sheryl Crow.
The three finalists also have some songs up their sleeve.
Chayce Beckham, will stick to his country roots and perform “Blackbird” by The Beatles. He also has Ed Sheeran’s “Afterglow” and Chris Stapleton’s “Fire Away”.
Grace Kinstler, who seems to be the next Kelly Clarkson in the making. Her strong vocals, means she has chosen female performers like Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, and Whitney Houston. From Dion she will sing “All By Myself”, from Houston “I Have Nothing”, and from the legendary Franklin, “(You make me feel like) a natural woman”
Willie Spence, whose performance is always a delight. He will perform Ray Charles “Georgia On My Mind”, Sam Cooke “A Change In Gonna Come”, and finally Erivo “Stand Up”.
In the beginning, it seems Grace Kinstler had the most chance. But this week at the finale many are putting odds on Chayce Beckham. His vocals different from the other two finalists have given him an edge. We can only wait and watch this Sunday
