Bollywood’s ‘angry young man’ is an icon and a role model for many of us. Even at this age, as he struggles with health issues, he stays passionate about his work and continues to give one stellar performance after another. The Shehenshah of Bollywood has paid Rs 70 crore as tax for the financial year 2018-19. He has emerged as the highest tax-payer of the year from the film fraternity. Bachchan has left behind Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan in the race to pay the highest tax.
Salman Khan
Bollywood’s very own bhai may not be churning out blockbusters anymore, but still continues to woo us all with his charm and wit. He is one of the highest tax payers in Bollywood. Salman paid around 44 crores as tax, according to the data.
Akshay Kumar
The man has aged like good wine; the older the better. No surprises that he is now finally being appreciated for his talent. In 2016-17, he reportedly paid Rs.29 crore as taxes to the government.
Shah Rukh Khan
The King Khan’s success is truly unmatched. He may not always have the best acting skills, but the passion he has for his work consumes all of us sitting in the audience. A movie can become a blockbusterwell only because it stars Shahrukh Khan. In 2016-17, he had paid approx 22 crores as income tax.
Aamir Khan
He is known for his perfectionism. In his long career, he has never given anything less than a 100% and that alone has made him one of the most successful actors in the industry. She had paid 14 crores as tax for the financial year 2016-17.
Hrithik Roshan
Hrithik Roshan occupies a name in the list by paying Rs 25.5 crores as advance tax for the year 2016-17; in 2015-2016, he had paid Rs 14 crores, which means a 74 percent growth year.
Kapil Sharma
Rs.23 crore as tax is what our most loved comedian pays as his income tax. Kapil was also recognised by Forbes as one of the highest paid celebrities.
Ranbir Kapoor
Who doesn’t drool over the versatile chocolate boy. With his all business, no nonsense approach to work, he has climbed up the success ladder steadily. And here he is, among the top tax payers in Bollywood. In 2016-17, he paid Rs.16 crore tax to the government.
Karan Johar
Woaah! There’s a 47.3 percent growth in Karan’s income; in 2015-16 he paid Rs 2 crores, but in 2016-17, he paid Rs 11.7 crores.
Deepika Padukone
Deepika made her debut in Hollywood with “XXX: Return of Xander Cage” and hence, a boost was but obvious; a 13 percent growth is seen as compared to former year. In 2015-2016, she paid Rs 9 crores, while in 2016-17, she paid Rs 10.25 crores.
Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt who’s becoming quite popular in B-Town has shown a whopping 46% percent growth. In 2015-16, she paid Rs 2.9 crores while in 2016-17, she paid Rs 5 crores.
Kareena Kapoor Khan
